The weekend of the 14th/15th April 2012 saw many events aound the world to mark the 100th anniversary of the sinking of RMS Titanic on her maiden voyage from Southhampton - New York.
The town of Comber will always be linked to the RMS Titanic because of Thomas Andrews Jnr, a native of the town, was a managing director of Harland and Wolff and head of the design team of Titanic. The Thomas Andrews Jr Memorial Hall was erected in his memory and is the largest memorial to one person who perished on Titanic.
Both Comber Silver Band and Laureldale Brass Ensemble played at events to mark the anniversary.

The Mayor of Ards, Councillor Mervyn Oswald, unveiled a new memorial to Thomas Andrew Jnr, those who built the Titanic and those who died on her tragic maiden voyage.
Under the direction of their conductor, Wesley Thompson, Comber Silver Band provided accompanying music to the ceremony. The selection of music included John Rutter's 'A Gaelic Blessing', Gareth Downey's 'Samson and Goliath' from Sinfionetta and a number of hymn tunes including 'Aurelia' and 'Abide With Me'.

As part of the Comber Together Titanic Festival hosted by 2nd Comber Presbyterian, Lauraldale Brass Ensemble performed at the church in the afternoon. Under the direction of David McCracken the ensemble gave an impressive performance.

At the Sunday evening service to mark the end of the Comber Together Titanic Festival, Comber Silver Band played before and led the worship during the service.
Comber Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church

Having provided the land at Windmill Hill that the church is bulit on, the Andrews family have been associated with Comber Non-Subscribing Persbyterian Church since it began.
Comber Silver band led the worship at a Service of Commemoration to Thomas Andrews Jnr.
